And for the record I do hate social media.

When I was a kid, I clung to positive adult and peer feedback and molded it like play-dough into an identity I could carry around and show off, much like I did with my flimsy princess castles and dinosaurs. And it was easy. And it still happens, because I post on social media a lot even though I hate it.

Well... I hate what it’s become. Plastic, edited, filtered, over-analyzed, weak, reckless, and a waste.

We’re all guilty to varying degrees. I’m a moth to the flame. I have tried to market myself as this quirky, uninhabitable girl island even though I get lonely, destructive, and bitter.

This whole year has been a brutal reminder that we should try to love what’s real. Family. Friends. Pets. Physical hobbies. Art. Cooking.... FAMILY.

Please, please love what’s real.

And make time for people who matter.

Kids, it’s all going by too fast.

❤️
