Having popcorn for dinner (fourth of July indulgence? Too lazy to cook? Leaning into my own quirkiness? All of the above, babe.)

Going over to my best friend’s place later to do whatever the hell tickles our fancy. We’ll probably just be weird. She gets me. I’ll make weird faces at her cats. Make up songs to sing to them. That sort of thing.

I had my third alcoholic beverage of 2026 this week. To help me sleep. It ended my bout of insomnia. Hmmm. The guardian angel that was alcohol!? I’m kidding.

Also more guardian angel maneuverings this week. A situation I thought was going to play out catastrophically will most likely be… inconvenient, but fine. So there’s that. It’s so cool when I look for facts and face the reality of situations instead of going blind with panic.

House to sell. Inheritance for me and Miles. Goodbye house. Sad house, happy house, general nostalgia house. I can probably pay off my car, all debt, and cash purchase a modest condo. I doubt I’ll do all three. Idk. a girl should have some savings, right?

That’s what a girl should do!

School is going pretty well. I’m making As and Bs. The chances of me making an A in each class are decent. Worst case scenario I make a B somewhere. I won’t throw myself off a cliff if this happens.

I’ve been looking at fully funded MFA programs.(shhhhh, don’t tell HCA!) Not sure it’s practical. I have 2 pitches out. Also pitching to Esquire. Esquire is the one I hope I land.

“A girl can dream.”

So she will.
